The Movies
Star Wars could never be pinned down like these one movie
films. It lives on through trilogy after trilogy. Here is
a quick overview of the Star Wars movies.
Episode 1
The Phantom Menace
Not the most popular movie ever but this is the first. It's
actually the 4th to be made. Released in 1999 the movie revealed
that the evil Sith Lord, enemy to the Jedi's was back in town.
Oh there's also a small battle between the Trade Federation
and the GunGan's too.
Episode 2
Attack of the Clones
The latest film to date, released in 2002 this film tells
of how Anakin (later to become Darth Vader) was trained by
Obi-Wan against the councils wishes (well this happened between
1 and 2) and how the storm trooper clones were created.
Episode 3
Uknown title
Not yet released be this movie. It's currently in post production
and will be out May 15, 2005. The title is not yet known but
of all the suggestions we have heard the most likely is "4xd
rules!" ;). This will bridge the gap about how Anakin
turns evil, how the republic collapses and how the empire
begins. We hope.
Episode 4
A New Hope
This is considered to be the original Star Wars by many. It
was the first one to be made (yup they started at number 4).
Many people just call it Star Wars but these people are wrong
- get over it you people who remember it when it originally
came out, it's called a New Hope.
This episode revolves around how Obi-Wan now an old man comes
into contact with Darth Vader's son Luke and begins to train
him as a Jedi as they rescue Princess Leia and destroy the
Death Star. However there are casualities in the form of Obi-Wan.
Episode 5
The Empire Strikes Back
The rebel alliance, fighting against the evil empire are hiding
out on the ice planet of Hoth. But the empire track them down
and launch a land assault on the base using war walkers. Everybody
flees. Later Darth and Luke have a good old fashioned light
sabre battle, Luke gets his hand chopped off and Hans gets
frozen.
Episode 6
Return of the Jedi
Guess what original storyline they came up with here? Yep,
the Empire has built another even bigger Death Star. Luke
takes a trip to see Jabba the Hutt to get his frozen friend
Hans and to rescue Leia having a swell time being chained
to Jabba in a golden bikini.
Luke resuces them all and they join the rebel alliance for
the assault on the Death Star. Luke goes aboard for showdown
with Darth and the Emperor while the rest of the gang go down
to the moon of Endor to disable to shielding power so everyone
else can blow the crap out of the Death Star (the original
Independence Day?).
FInally Hans flies his uber good ship, the Millenium Falcon
straight through the middle of the Death Star and blows it
up escaping just in time. Luke makes it out too carrying with
him the body of his repented father Darth. The universe parties
that the evil empire is gone.
Episodes 7, 8 and 9
Originally there were going to be 9 films. We can only hope
that this is still the case. Personally I am very looking
forward to what happens after the empire as long as it's pulled
off well.
